Artwork Requirements:
The following requirements are meant to guide you in the process of creating and submitting your art for screen printing, vinyl graphics, business cards/postcards and embroidery to ensure the art given to us will generate the best quality of garment or graphic.
Accepted graphic file formats:
-
Corel Draw
-
Adobe Illustrator (.ai)
-
Adobe Photoshop (.psd)
-
EPS (Encapsulated Post Script, .eps)
-
BMP, TIFF
Corel Draw
Corel Draw is a vector based program that saves the mathematical information required for the program to redraw the image any size keeping the image at a high resolution. This gives an ideal image to work with for printing. All files should be saved in either 8 bit RGB format or specific Pantone Solid Coated colors.
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Illustrator files are stored in a vector based file format and produce excellent results when used for screen printing, embroidery, signs, banners, stickers, business cards, etc. These files can be re-sized to the correct size for printing without losing the resolution so your design will not lose its detail or sharpness. All files must be saved in 8 bit RGB or specific pantone colors.
Adobe Photoshop
Photoshop files can produce excellent results, but certain requirements must be met. When submitting the Photoshop file, it must be saved at the actual size to be printed with at least 300 dpi resolution or greater. Since Photoshop is a raster file image based program, any resizing of the design will reduce the resolution and will result in poor image quality when printed or embroidered. Any layer information must be left intact when the file is submitted.
EPS
EPS files are accepted and can be generated from many other professional quality graphic imaging creation programs. EPS files must be at least 300 dpi resolution and at least ½ the required size of the printed image.
BMP and TIFF
BMP and TIFF files save their information much like Photoshop. These files must be at least 300 dpi resolution and the design size must be at final print size and in 8 bit RGB color mode.
Not accepted graphic file formats:
-
JPEG & GIF
JPEG file formats are designed to be displayed on computer monitors. These files are used extensively throughout the web because of their low resolution and download size. JPEG files do not produce acceptable results when used for printing.
If the only file you have is a JPEG or GIF, we can work to recreate the image in one of the accepted file formats. Art charges will apply for any recreated image or if there is touch up needed to the design prior to printing.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
ANY IMAGE/DESIGN THAT IS LOW RESOLUTION (IE. 72 DPI RESOLUTION) THAT IS UPSCALED TO 300 DPI RESOLUTION WILL SIMPLY TAKE A POOR QUALITY, LOW RESOLUTION IMAGE AND MAKE IT A POOR QUALITY HIGH RESOLUTION IMAGE.
ORIGINAL FILES NEED TO BE HIGH RESOLUTION!
